Jonah 1: Compassion

The Bible says a lot about God’s compassion, and we are to be like Him.  In tomorrow’s Explore at Ottery St Mary Parish Church at 11.15am, Lynn helps us to think about compassion.

What does it mean to be compassionate?  In what ways does God show compassion?

Have there been times you have shown compassion to someone you dislike, or to someone who had hurt you?  What made Jonah run, and what would you do?  How should our attitude be?

Sometimes we feel like the person deserves their misfortune:  Are there actually times when it is better to be less compassionate?  Join the discussion!

We plan to sing The Splendour of the King (How Great is our God), God my Rock and Wonderful, Merciful Saviour.  See you tomorrow!
